Recruiting Assistant

PrideStaff Portland is seeking a Recruiting Assistant for our fast paced office to provide support for a variety of administrative, recruiting and staffing functions. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, is detailed oriented, has an open and engaging personality and strong organizational skills. This role fills a key position in our office. Job Responsibilities:

As a Recruiting Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of recruiting administrative, clerical and organizational functions to include; screening candidates, answering phone calls, running payroll, filing candidate folders. The position reports to the Owner and works closely with the Staffing Consultants. Daily activities are fast paced and will vary based on office needs daily. The Recruiting Assistant’s duties are integrated into the daily workflow of the team.

Responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant include:

  • Daily screening of candidates
  • Reference checks
  • Provide new employee orientation and review all documentation
  • Communicating with Candidates and Clients via phone
  • Prepare weekly Payroll
  • Reception; both walk-in and phone
  • Completing I-9, E-Verify documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:

As a Recruiting Assistant you should have at least 6 months experience in customer service and or  administrative roles. You must have strong computer skills. We are looking for someone that has strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Spanish language fluency, both spoken and written is highly desirable.


  • Proficient with the use of personal computers
  • Strong work ethic; Consistent Time and Attendance are critical
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Advanced Skills with MS office suite (Excel, Power Point, and Word)
  • Strong typing skill

Education; High School Degree or GED required. Associates or Bachelors Degree Preferred

Salary: $13.00/hr to $15.00/hr dependent on experience and skills
