A growing company in San Diego is in need of Accounts Reconciliation / Payroll Supervisor. The Account Reconciliation / Payroll Supervisor will provide support and hold a high level of
responsibility within the Finance Department, including Payroll, AP/AR, and other tasks as needed.
The Account Reconciliation / Payroll Supervisor position assesses, monitors, and coaches all direct
report staff to performance goals and ensures departmental integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Accounting to assist with special projects as assigned – such as; assisting with
training new employees on areas of accounting/finance necessary for their position
Develop and maintain reports in AP files and provide timely and accurate payment processing
Analyze daily work reports for department
Analyze spending and draft trend reports
Schedule and conduct internal audit of customer payment method dispute data and provide results of audits
Analyze customer dispute data and provide trend analysis for variances
Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances
Obtain cost effective measures for office expenses
Partner with Management regarding approvals for company credit card charges
Maintain multiple credit cards, audit/reconcile and enter expenses in accounting system.
Audit expense reports and obtain proper approvals and enter into accounting system
Address direct reports on departmental subject matter and escalate as needed
Use accounting software, spreadsheets, and databases to gather required information
Put costs (debits) and income (credits) into software, assigning each to an appropriate account
Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
Knowledge of complete payroll processing knowledge to solely process and finalize payroll when Manager is not
available
Resolve payroll related questions by providing proper documentation and explanation
Undertake other duties not specifically stated, which from time to time are necessary, without altering the nature
or level of responsibility


Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Account Reconciliation / Payroll Supervisor will hire, train, coordinate staff and manage schedules. They will
monitor, coach and mentor employees, perform disciplinary action to under performers and strive to achieve individual
and departmental goals.


Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must stay current with processes and procedures related to the Finance Department
Ability to interact and work with multiple levels of management
Good data entry and typing skills

Minimum Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) from a regionally accredited institution
2-3 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable desk
Must be experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate to advanced Excel.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar accounting programs and third-party payroll
service processing
2-3 years of supervisory experience
