Job Description

Job Title:  Prototype/ Manufacturing Machinist 

Position Overview 

Designs and builds jigs, fixtures, tools, dies, gages, and various devices used to improve efficiency of the manufacturing processes and are able to operate CNC Machines

Essential Job Functions
Works with other departments to develop hardware that enhances their efficiency.

Manufactures parts from prints, using all the modern tool room machine tools, 

Supports engineering new product development in design and prototype 

- Request, receive, and document the movement of the correct raw materials needed.

- Produce the 1st part and make any corrections required to reach approval.  

- Supports manufacturing in running low rate production on conversational and CNC 

- Adequate instructor abilities to provide operator training and oversight.  Implement, 

- Troubleshoot problems during production.

- Modify tooling to conform to engineering changes by checking dimensions, 

- Responsible for helping maintain a clean and safe work environment.

- Works in a safe manner and observes plant safety rules and regulations at all times. 

- Recommends proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity 

- Know and understand Mfg. Quality policy and Quality Management System as 

- Perform all other duties as required

- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, diagrams,

- Must have a basic knowledge of G-Code programming.

- Must be able to operate conversational and CNC machines.

- Minimum of 5 years work experience in a machine shop.

- Must be proficient bench repair, Assembly, Machinery, Up-Keep, Layout, Fixture 

requirements and business correspondences.

Other Skills

- Ability to operate a forklift.

- Must be adaptable to changing work environment, competing demands anis able to
