Established company in the legal industry located near Garden City, NY seeks an experienced Paralegal/Case Administrator.
This position reports directly to General Counsel and requires someone with excellent organizational and time management skills, in addition to superior communication skills, both written and verbal. Responsible for case management and handling all phases of the administration of various types of claims submitted from inception through conclusion, requiring the application of different rules/procedures for the administration process; communicating with parties to the proceeding and neutrals on case-related issues and procedural matters; calendaring and monitoring the status of cases submitted and following up with parties and/or neutrals when necessary; assisting with the recruitment and vetting of judges/neutrals throughout the US and internationally; research; preparation of materials needed in connection with the development of new business opportunities; responding to inquiries regarding company’s services; coordinating with the accounting dept. and assisting in the invoicing of cases and billing of the judges/neutrals.
Works closely with senior management and other departments in the company to ensure excellent client service, case management, and good relations with the judges/neutrals.
Education: Bachelor’s degree/J.D./paralegal certificate preferred with experience in the legal or ADR industry, or judicial system. Would also consider a legal secretary.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (to 5pm on Fridays) with 1 hour for lunch.
