Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for installation, repair and preventative maintenance on electric and electronic systems of both the production equipment and the physical plant. This position also assists the Maintenance Technicians in general equipment maintenance and repair. The work is complex, involving a number of variables which can complicate the work being performed.

 

Essential Duties

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and/or electronic systems of production equipment and physical plant

Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic systems of the production equipment and physical plant

Install electric and electronic systems

Provide electrical and/or electronic expertise to managers, supervisors and other employees as needed.

 

Additional Duties

Assist other Maintenance staff with general maintenance of the production equipment and the physical plant

Other duties as assigned

 

Working Conditions

Moderate physical activity performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily production and/or technical  nature.

Working in the manufacturing area is required, exposing this position to high noise levels, electrical shock, handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, proximity to moving mechanical parts and some exposure to extreme heat and cold.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

                Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems

Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Knowledge of PLC

Strong mechanical aptitude

Able to provide own tools

Able to work unusual hours on short notice

Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company

Able to read and interpret safety rules, work instructions, operating instructions, maintenance information and procedure manuals written in English

Able to write routine reports, instructions and correspondence in English

Able to effectively present information to small groups and/or individuals

Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; able to compute rates, ratios and percentages

Visual acuity sufficient to see objects clearly beyond 20 feet and within 20 inches; and a field of vision to see an area up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on one point

Hearing ability sufficient to receive information through verbal communication

 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; OR

Two to three years of related experience and/or training; OR

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience

 

Able to demonstrate, by training, experience and/or testing the knowledge, skills and abilities shown above.
