 Vice President of Operations/GM

Salary: $100K+, DOE

Job overview

The Vice President of Operations will lead and manage all production activities.  The position has a key role in the manufacturing of all finished goods, press maintenance and managing production staff.  In addition, the VP Ops/GM will work closely with the owner to develop and maintain customer relationships as well as assess and develop new potential production lines and business opportunities.

MUST:  Extensive Wood Industry Expereince


  • Responsible for all aspects of panel production.
  • Responsible for quality standards compliance, quality control and quarterly inventory counts.
  • Manages production workflow and raw material usage and makes recommendations to improve manufacturing processes to better serve customers.
  • Responsible for daily production and operations scheduling.  Works with Office Administrator and Warehouse Lead to ensure all orders are delivered on time, as promised.
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of all orders and notify potential late deliveries immediately.
  • Keeps key customer and vendor information, programs, and pricing confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort which includes developing programs to motivate and incent employees to achieve higher performance.
  • Analyze and resolve work issues and/or assist workers in solving work issues.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the proper use of equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies
  • Communicate and reinforce Duramar values, policies and procedures while managing, training, coaching, counseling and reviewing job contributions of the office and warehouse staff.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and routinely visit customers.
  • Respond effectively to competitor products and pricing to protective and develop sales.
  • Provide market feedback from the field to owner regarding products, pricing and customer concerns.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Manufacturing Management – Minimum of 5 years
  • Wood Industry – Minimum of 4 years
  • B.A. degree from a four-year college or comparable industry experience
  • Thorough knowledge of all company products and our markets
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, written and organization skills
  • Knowledge of engineered wood products and terminology and its various applications
  • Knowledge of basic financial terms and calculations and ability to use computer and supporting software
