Position Summary Night Shift Supervisor with Manufacturing experience.
Responsible for safety, performance appraisal input, training, development, CPS, and results of shift performance. Manages daily production activities to support extrusion, printing and converting production departments, assigns work based on WO priorities and instruction, enforces policy and procedures, drives root cause analysis activities, recommends improvements in production methods, and participates in continuous improvement team activities (CPS).
Maintains a positive and professional attitude that reflects the company’s commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Coordinates the day to day activities of the production crew. Follows and maintains systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals to manage employee relations and performance.
Manages internal customer relationships to ensure project goals are met: equipment performance, DT, repairs, schedule completion, shift information exchange, specifications (Safety, Quality, Production).
Provides support to operations to increase machine uptime, productivity throughout the plant, and ensure the Safety, Quality, Production, and upkeep of the shift.
Takes all necessary actions to manage production quality, down time and improve performance.
Advices management on capital improvements needed and upgrades to increase company productivity.
Evaluates production performance and conducts OEE analyses to recommend changes.
Adhere to all GMPs, HAACP, and AIB compliance/regulatory mandates and quality requirements.
Indoctrinates and assists in development of all production staff. Instills a "safety first" attitude not only with the shift but with all staff members throughout the plant.
Strong background in Safety; GMP; AIB; Lean Manufacturing; DMS
Audits safety, quality, and environmental housekeeping procedures
Enforces all plant and department safety rules, policies and procedures
Performs incident investigations
Drives continuous improvement activities (CPS)
Attends and provides input for all required Continuous Improvement Meetings
Coordinates work assignments to team members and tracks completion of WO and projects
Provides coaching and training to members on product specifications, equipment capabilities, BDP’s, and production targets
Provides coaching and counseling to team members. Follows up and holds team accountable to ensure goals are met
Manages facility equipment performance and reports results as directed by the plant manager
Maintain technical knowledge and understanding of plant equipment
Manages training and continuous education to ensure proper skill level throughout the department
Ensures shift crewing meeting is attended, backlog is accurate and targets are communicated throughout the plant
Ensures the shift team members are conscious of goals and how they will achieve them
Coordinate with other departments, e.g. Scheduling maintenance and PTL's to maximize the productivity of the line
Attends weekly plant performance review and communicates performance, barriers and plans for overcoming barriers and achieving goals
Maintains production records and provides information to management regarding operating problems
