Job Description

PrideStaff has an immediate position for a OPERATIONS MANAGER for a company in North County.




  • Supervise and manage a staff of engineers and technicians.
  • Inspect the work performed by the contractor and its subcontractors to verify conformity with the requirements of the contract.
  • Verify that workmanship, materials, and equipment delivered to the jobsite for installation or installed by the contractor meet or exceed the requirements of the Operations.
  • Inspect the work daily.
  • Promptly report in writing to the customer any observed variances from the design and construction contract requirements.
  • Notify the Customer if the contractor fails to promptly remove, correct, or replace rejected design or construction work.
  • Maintain an active list of construction and design deficiencies and omissions, indicating corrective status.
  • Prepare and maintain a marked-up set of drawings (red lines) to verify contractor's official "As-Built" drawings set.
  • Review contract drawings, Specifications, and approved submittals in preparation for upcoming inspections.
  • Administer changes to the contract and track contract modification.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Measure Operations performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.


Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications:


  • At least 5 years' experience in Operations Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Government contract experience (preferred).
  • Must be able to interact with contractors, industrial plant operators, plant engineers, plant managers, and Gov’t personnel.
  • Proficient with large-scale estimating software.
  • Experience with On-screen Take-off and MC2 is highly desirable.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient with industry estimating databases and other estimating data sources, e.g. RS Means, Richardson’s, etc.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat.
  • LEED – AP preferred (Not required).
  • Candidate must have an Engineering background with Building Construction experience.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work weekends, and off hours on occasions.
  • Three years of general estimating experience directly related to both engineering, construction and maintenance projects is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency estimating formats, including Uniformat II.
