Job Description

PrideStaff has an immediate position for a CONTRACT SUPPLY PLANNER position for a company in North County. 

Temporary position - 6 months


The responsibilities of this position include managing the production planning of an assigned set of product families and/or production lines within an assigned plant.  Production planning, DRP, raw material requirement planning, etc. are functions of responsibility of the position.  This position requires the ability of an individual to work in a heavily matrixed organization interacting with Commercial Directors, Sales Managers, Regional Manufacturing Managers, Plant  Managers, Production Managers, Supply and Materials Managers, Logistics Coordinators, Purchasing Agents and Procurement Professionals. 


  • Develop realistic, capacity feasible monthly production plans that cover the full S&OP horizon based on the demand forecast, customer orders, current inventory, and stock strategies.

  • Develop and maintain DRP plans and raw material requirement plans that support production plans and customer demand.

  • Respond to customer order availability requests with realistic commitment dates based on available capacity, previous commitments, and raw material availability.

  • Participate in and provide supporting information for the monthly plant pre-S&OP process as required.

  • Manage inventory against targets and analyze changes to inventory month to month. Support the monthly slow moving and aged inventory reduction processes.

  • Manage production planning related master data in the supply chain systems, including stock strategies, safety stock targets, and capacity parameters working in conjunction with Demand Managers, Production Managers and Schedules.

  • In conjunction with Demand Management, resolve and implement any demand priority decisions when supply cannot meet all demands.

  • Manage, identify and solve any/all supply issues.

  • Work with R&D/AT to appropriately incorporate trials into the production plan.

  • Follow regional and globally developed standard supply chain work processes and best practices.

  • Participate in Supply Chain improvement projects within Ferro.

  • Perform any/all other Production Planning/Supply Chain duties as necessary.



Required Qualifications: 


  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree preferred, Supply Chain, Engineering or Finance degrees preferred.

  • 5 or more years Supply Chain experience

  • APICS CPIM Certification preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of MRPII and/or APICS supply chain processes

  • Thorough knowledge and comfort working with SAP or similar ERP systems
