Job Description

Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

$18 to $19 per hour, depending on experience

Northwest Fort Worth

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, overtime is sometimes offered

Requirements:

  • Must have 3+ years of experience in a hands-on shipping and receiving role, loading and unloading product onto and off of trucks, reading packing lists and waybills
  • Must have experience preparing large equipment for shipment
  • Must have experience negotiating LTL (Less than Truck Load) freight rates with carriers
  • Understand DOT (Department Of Transportation) rules and regulations
  • Proficient with computers, data entry, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience operating a sit-down forklift
  • Able to build pallets for shipments
  • Experience using UPS software
  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Contacts with logistics companies is a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations
  • Motivated with a great attitude
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and independently
  • Willing to take and pass a drug test
  • Backgrounds will be reviewed, misdemeanors will be considered

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload trucks using a sit-down forklift
  • Handle shipping and receiving paperwork and associated computer software tools
  • Prepare product and documents for shipment
  • Negotiate shipping costs with carriers and coordinate shipments
  • Coordinate deliveries to the warehouse and shipments going out
  • Make sure products received are sent for quality inspection when necessary and that all incoming product is placed into the correct warehouse location
  • Maintain records on product going into and out of the warehouse including reconciling goods received with bills of lading and invoices
  • Verify that the inventory in the software system is accurate
  • Build pallets
  • Help in the warehouse and with inventory counts when needed
