Glenn O'Brien, Owner/Strategic-Partner
With over twenty-five years of manufacturing and supply chain experience (mostly in sales, marketing, and management), I have contributed to organizations of all sizes. The first-hand knowledge I've gained of distribution, logistics, operations, procurement and other business processes has helped me truly appreciate the challenges today's light industrial employers face.
Throughout my career, I've hired employees, built and led teams, and worked with staffing firms as an end client. As a result, I understand how critical it is to find the right people for the right roles, while managing both costs and risks.
Outside work, I serve on the board of a nonprofit dedicated to alleviating homelessness. In addition to providing shelter and support services, we also try to secure meaningful employment opportunities for individuals to help get their lives back on track.
When I decided I wanted to run my own company, I looked for an opportunity to create a community-based business – one that would allow me to give back to the people and employers where I live. I found that opportunity with PrideStaff. With an amazing reputation in the marketplace, tremendous infrastructure and best-in-class support, PrideStaff helps me deliver workforce and employment solutions that benefit all parties involved.
The Big Picture:
The rules have changed, whether you're looking for workers or looking for work.
Baby boomers are remaining in the workforce; as new generations continue to enter. A volatile economy and massive healthcare reforms are causing companies to become more risk-averse – and reevaluate their business models in terms of how they engage talent.
Our role is to develop solutions that effectively address changing needs, allowing both individuals and organizations to achieve their goals.
The Scoop on Staffing:
PrideStaff "connects the dots" between clients and associates. We serve as a trusted advisor to employers, helping them manage the ebb and flow of business cycles. By providing flexible, cost-effective access to talent – as well as exceptional cultural and skills fit – we solve real business problems.
On the other side of the employment equation, we help area job seekers take the next step in their careers by: offering opportunities to work when, where and as much as they need; providing coaching and feedback to improve interview skills and resumes; and actively promoting top candidates to employers. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that individuals don't just search, but succeed.
Secrets to Success:
Surround yourself with great people: individuals with solid ethics whose opinions you value; professionals who can coach and mentor you; people who will offer constructive input when you bounce ideas off of them.
Dream big, but don't just dream. Create a plan for reaching your goals, and then put in the work needed to make it happen.
Treat people with respect. This can be as simple as greeting clients and associates with a smile.
When I'm not working, I try to get outside and get active. To relax, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, playing acoustic guitar and listening to music.
