Hurricane Ian Relief: PrideStaff Aids Fort Myers Metro Office with GoFundMe Campaign

October 14, 2022

Hurricane Ian made landfall in Southwest Florida on September 28th, proving to be the deadliest hurricane in the United States since Katrina in 2005. In the wake of the damage and devastation caused by the massive storm, PrideStaff, a nationally franchised staffing organization, has started a relief fund for its Fort Myers Metro office to aid recovery efforts.

The catastrophic Category 4 hurricane caused severe flooding, cut off the only road access to islands off the mainland, and knocked out electricity to 2.67 million Florida homes and businesses. PrideStaff Fort Myers Metro is located in one of the hardest-hit areas. Although the office remains structurally sound, it was greatly impacted by the mass power outage. PrideStaff Fort Myers Metro employees suffered severe flooding and property losses and many field associates are still unable to be reached.

In light of these terrible events, PrideStaff’s Home Office has donated $2,500 and created a GoFundMe campaign to help support the Fort Myers field associates and internal employees impacted by Hurricane Ian.

Standing together and offering support during natural disasters is nothing new for PrideStaff. In 2017, the staffing and employment agency orchestrated an award-winning disaster relief campaign in the wake of Hurricane Harvey and provided extensive support to PrideStaff Lake Charles in 2020 after Hurricanes Delta and Laura.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the generous contribution and support from our Home Office,” said Patrick Gunther, Co-Owner/Strategic-Partner of the PrideStaff Fort Myers office. “The leadership at PrideStaff has always come through for us in a big way when we need it most. This GoFundMe campaign will make a huge difference in the lives of our people here in Fort Myers, bringing relief and comfort to team members and field associates who lost so much in the storm.”

“Hurricane Ian blindsided our clients, internal employees, and field associates throughout Fort Myers, destroying homes and leaving countless people without the bare necessities they need to survive,” said PrideStaff Co-CEO and COO, Tammi Heaton. “Banding together to assist our neighboring offices in times of need is a big part of the PrideStaff culture. We’re happy to help our employees and field associates manage unexpected living expenses, displacement costs, property damage, and lost work opportunities, and the GoFundMe campaign is a great way for anyone to make a direct, immediate impact.”

“We know Florida has a long road ahead,” continued Heaton, “We are committed to helping our Fort Myers office recover, get back to work, and rebuild their community.”
