After growing up in Akron, Ohio, I joined the U.S. Army and served on multiple international assignments. After my honorable discharge, I earned my bachelors degree in human resources from the University of Akron. I then honed my human resource skills as the HR director for the City of Kent as well as holding HR, Safety, Corporate Security and Operations positions for two very large corporations.
I returned to the books to earn my MBA and I also acquired my SPHR and CPP certifications. I worked my way up in the private sector where I eventually became the department head for multiple departments with full P&L responsibilities. This is where I came to really enjoy business, and it always felt so rewarding to help people gain employment. When I decided the time was right to start my own business, staffing was a natural choice and PrideStaff was the perfect partner. I couldn’t be happier with my decision!

I love being there for my clients and it is so rewarding when clients tell me how much they enjoy working with me and my team. It is pretty exciting for us when clients realize we are different and we do things better. I often joke with clients that I hope we will both retire together one day, and it’s the truth because I have a long term approach to client relationships.
The Scoop on Staffing:
In the staffing industry it is too easy to get caught in the trap of being transactional. Instead of taking and filling orders, my goal is to be a great collaborator with my clients. By building relationships that are consultative instead of transactional, we can find better ways to tackle the tough issues clients face in talent acquisition and retention. I also really enjoy working with my clients to identify ways to increase the value of what we do for them. By identifying value we can find better ways to drive improvements to the bottom line instead of just looking at the cost side of the equation.
Secrets to Success:
It's important that clients know I am here for the long haul as a true partner. I have been very fortunate to have received some of the best leadership training available and I love putting it into practice with my clients. Favorite Stress Reliever:
My favorite stress reliever is getting out and spending time with my family. My son and daughter are both heavily involved in high school sports and my ideal day is spent by the ball field or in the gym watching and cheering them along. We also enjoy traveling to new places and engage in some pretty exciting outdoor adventures.
