Is it time for a change? Our client seeks a financial analyst to collect and analyze financial information related to the company’s revenue, direct margin, and inventory. The responsibilities include participating in ongoing 24-month SIOP reporting; providing detailed financial analysis and program and product profitability reporting to Accounting, Sales and Production; preparing periodic cost reconciliation reports that track data such as labor and supply costs; managing inventory valuation and maintaining inventory reconciliations; monitoring warehouse facilities and evaluating inventory transactions such as receiving, storage, shipping and inventory integrity; analyzing past financial performance to predict future performance and advise the company on strategy; providing creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance; assembling and summarizing data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks; developing financial models, conducting benchmarking and processing analysis; conducting business studies on past, future and comparative performance and developing forecast models; identifying and analyzing trends and recommending actions to the controller and senior management; tracking, analyzing and comparing actual results to forecasts to determine financial status; collaborating with the purchasing team weekly for inventory purchases; collaborating with the planning team for military revenue forecasts and customer service for commercial revenue forecasts; helping turn customer requirements into feasible options and communicating them to stakeholders; driving process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact function; maintaining an expert understanding of inventory and inventory systems to ensure accurate inventory and direct costs; and providing historical information for cost elements to support pricing and proposal functions. Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; experience as a cost account or program finance analyst in an actual cost manufacturing environment; strong presentation and reporting skills; a thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures; proficiency with databases, Microsoft Office and financial software applications; and excellent organizational, communication, analytical, problem-solving skills.
