Job Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Production and Field Service Technician to join their team. The responsibilities include providing on-site support, assembly, and maintenance for the equipment and systems. Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in assembly, fabrication, electrical wiring, the use of hand and power tools, as well as a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving in manufacturing facilities and warehouses, are required. The duties include building instruments that measure anything from a camera pill to 30,000-pound satellites for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies; programming the modules; testing and troubleshooting the assemblies; checking system performance and instrumentation; installing instruments, which might require international travel; and traveling to customer sites to install new equipment as well as service and support previously installed equipment. The experience requirements include electrical and electronic assembly wiring; configuration and programming of hardware interface devices; mechanical assembly of instruments and machines; performing systems troubleshooting and checkout; installing the systems at domestic and international customer locations, typically for less than one week; communicating with customers for problem resolution; and other duties as assigned. The additional requirements include proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in a manufacturing facility or assembly line environment; proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for assembly and repair tasks; strong problem-solving skills; the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues; excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members; the ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments; and a willingness to travel to job sites as required, which is not expected until after the first 6 to 12 months of employment.
