If you have experience setting up FANUC, Doosan, Robodrill, or Star CNC machines and want to work 1st shift, this opportunity could be for you! Our precision machining client seeks a knowledgeable and dependable CNC lathe set-up machinist to deliver tight tolerances and produce high-quality, complex components. This machinist sets up and edits CNC lathe machines and supports production in manufacturing parts that meet or exceed the company’s quality requirements and standards at the lowest costs. The machinist also improves processes and helps develop new technologies. The responsibilities include setting up and editing CNC lathes for FANUC, Doosan, Robodrill, and Star CNC machines; analyzing drawings, specifications and work orders to determine the best tooling and machining process that meet part specifications; selecting tooling speeds and feeds for optimized tool life and program efficiency; defining setup requirements, including proper work holding, tooling and tool holders; supporting manufacturing requirements with CNC lathe and Robodrill programming and support; collaborating to uphold and maintain departmental standards, including quality and on-time delivery goals; performing sequential operations, consistently maintaining the performance level set for quality and quantity; executing to the company’s standard operating procedures; troubleshooting machining; collaborating with team members and production staff; 

and participating in classes, reading technical publications, and cross-training. The qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; 5+ years of machining and manufacturing experience with a focus on FANUC, Doosan, Robodrill, or Star CNC machines and CNC set-up; an understanding of cutting tool selection and application, machine and work holding limitations, machine shop math and math for machining; advanced blueprint reading; GD&T; mechanical reasoning; logical trouble shooting; computer skills for manufacturing and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
