They are also a full-line stocking distributor for the components used in assemblies bearing their name and reputation. The electrical controls panel builder uses industrial control wiring, panel fabrication, and assembly to construct automation control systems. A thorough understanding of best practices and UL508a requirements is needed to produce one-of-a-kind control systems from schematic drawings. As part of the production team, the builder collaborates with other builders, technicians, and engineers on challenging projects. The Level I Fabricator requirements include production skills and processes such as wiring and mechanical assembly; using hand tools such as drills, jigsaws, grinders, and crimpers; performing in a team environment; and maintaining high standards and quality control. The Level II requirements include the Level I skills plus 1 year of experience; thorough familiarity with industrial control components and terminology; functional understanding of UL508A and NFPA79 standards; and the ability to build directly from schematic drawings and plan efficient, standards-compliant panel layouts. The Level III Master Builder requirements include the Level II skills, 5+ years of experience, and complete mastery of wire prep, crimping, soldering, and red-line documentation. Additional work is required in diverse environments and industries, including clean rooms, rock quarries, and military installations. The general qualifications include strong organizational and communication skills; attention to detail; reliable personal transportation; and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, lift 50 pounds, and work on offsite installations lasting one day to one week.
