SHINING BRIGHT: PrideStaff Lake Charles Field Associates Repair Hurricane Damaged Solar Reflectors

The PrideStaff Lake Charles office is pleased to announce that its field associates recently received high praise from Gossamer Space Frames for replacing damaged solar reflectors in less than half of the time predicted for project completion.

PrideStaff Lake Charles was honored to be chosen by Gossamer Space Frames to repair solar reflectors that were first weakened by Hurricane Laura, and then demolished by Hurricane Delta. By contracting seven experienced and motivated engineering students from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, PrideStaff Lake Charles completed the project in four days, instead of the expected ten days, gaining gratitude and appreciation from the client. “The students performed marvelously,” said Glenn Reynolds, President of Gossamer Space Frames. “Your work played a significant role in this project. Everything went very smoothly—thank you!”

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has strong ties to the Start Lab at the Cleco Renewable Energy Center in Crowley, where the solar reflectors were repaired. The engineering students were pleased to add to their professional expertise and ended the project on a high note; by upgrading the CSP Trough Demonstration Platform to an 8m Aperture, they set a World Record for solar collecting power installation by university students, graduates, and academics.
